how hayley works

Sixty seconds. Three reflections. One question worth sitting with.

Speak for up to sixty seconds. Hayley reflects back an insight, a pattern, and one question. Here's exactly what happens, step by step.

the session

What happens when you open Hayley.

There's no prompt. No structure. No suggested topics. You tap once and speak. What you say is entirely up to you. Most people start with whatever has been on their mind most today. Some people don't know what they're going to say until they start saying it. Both are fine. That's the point.

Tap and speak

One button. Up to sixty seconds. No prompts, no structure, no required format. Say what's on your mind.

02

On-device transcription

Your voice is transcribed entirely on your device. Nothing leaves your phone. The transcription is processed locally before anything else happens.

03

Three reflection cards appear

An insight about what you're really saying. A pattern detected across your sessions. One question worth sitting with. That's it. Nothing more.

04

The entry is saved

Every session is stored with its date, the three cards, and the detected pattern. You can scroll back through your history at any time.

the three card types

Each card looks at a different layer.

insight

What you're really saying.

Not a summary of your words. A reading of what's underneath them. The insight looks for what you said in passing that turned out to be the thing you meant. Often it names something that was there all along but hadn't been said directly.

pattern

What keeps recurring.

The pattern card looks across sessions, not just this one. It surfaces what keeps coming back. The same theme. The same avoidance. The same shape of thought under pressure. It builds accuracy the more you use Hayley.

question

One worth sitting with.

Not an answer. Not advice. A single question that reframes the problem slightly, so the next time you return to it, the loop has somewhere different to go. The question is designed to be carried, not solved immediately.

pattern memory

Context that builds over time.

After a few sessions, Hayley begins to build a picture of how you think. Not of events, but of the shape of your thinking. The language you reach for under pressure. What you consistently sidestep. The gap between what you say and what you mean.

This is where the pattern card gets most useful. A single session tells you something about right now. A month of sessions tells you something about who you are under pressure, what you avoid, what keeps coming back regardless of the specific situation.

Once a month, Hayley surfaces a monthly reflection: what slowed you, what you avoided, and one concrete next step. It's not a summary of events. It's a summary of how you think.

privacy in detail

On-device transcription. Nothing leaves your phone.

Hayley uses on-device transcription. Your voice is converted to text entirely on your iPhone, before anything else happens. The audio is never sent anywhere. The text stays on your device.

Your entries are private by design, not by policy. There is no server where your words exist. We can't read your entries even if we wanted to. The only copy is the one on your phone.

This matters when you're using something to say the things you haven't said out loud before.

why it was built

Built during a stretch that needed it.

Hayley was built by a founder who sold a company and couldn't find anything that helped process the experience clearly. The thoughts were there. The decisions had weight. But nothing available gave back something useful. Journaling felt slow. Talking to people felt like burdening them. Chat tools answered questions you already knew how to ask.

What was missing was something that would just listen, notice what was underneath, and reflect it back without agenda. So that's what Hayley became.

If you keep returning to a thought you can't resolve, this is built for exactly that.
